Status of a Person that Commits Suicide

Question:

Shalom kvod haRav.

Today my family received a call from my brother who lives in the U.S, telling us that one of his clients committed suicide. Apparently, this person was diagnosed as bipolar and medicated but was left alone at home and did what he did, unable to tolerate loneliness.

What´s the Torah view on these sort of cases?

Thank you.

Answer:

Generally when suicide is by a person suffering as you describe he is not considered to have violated this terrible offense and is considered to have died of his illness.
